Are you conscious about the long travel that a drop of your blood must do every minute. We explain this fact in this video.

Hello, we are Blood Droplets, Sofía and Noa, and we are going to take you through our path 00:00:00
around the circulatory system. 00:00:07
This is the circulatory system, and we are going to briefly explain its parts. 00:00:10
So the main part is the heart, which pumps the blood around all the body. 00:00:15
The other main parts are the veins and arteries. 00:00:23
Veins have thinner and more flexible walls, but arteries have thicker walls and a lot 00:00:27
of pressure. 00:00:36
And we also have capillaries, which are the ends of the veins that are always closed. 00:00:37
Blood enters the heart, which pumps it to the lungs to get oxygen, and then back to 00:00:46
the heart, which pumps it all around the body to oxygenate all of our tissues. 00:00:53
The blood enters the right atrium through the superior vena cava, and then passes through 00:01:01
the trascupid valve to the right ventricle, and then it goes through the pulmonary valve 00:01:07
to the pulmonary arteries and ends in the lungs, where the gas exchange occurs. 00:01:16
For the gas exchange, the blood goes through the pulmonary artery to an alveoli in the 00:01:27
lungs. 00:01:38
So the alveoli have loads of capillaries in which the gas exchange occurs. 00:01:39
A vein capillary has the blood with carbon dioxide, which exchanges with oxygen and goes 00:01:48
through a capillary artery back to the heart. 00:02:00
The blood enters the left atrium through the pulmonary veins, and then passes through the 00:02:06
mitral valve to the left ventricle, and then goes through the aortic valve to the aorta, 00:02:13
to the rest of the body. 00:02:24
When the blood gives all its nutrients, minerals, salts, and oxygen to the organs in the capillaries, 00:02:28
it exchanges to the veins and then goes back to the heart and repeats this process all 00:02:43
along again until you are dead. 00:02:55
So this is the end of our talk. 00:03:00
I hope you like our work. 00:03:03
