Today we are going to learn about plants. I hope you like music because I'm going to start with a song. 00:00:00
Plants are alike and different, but all plants have some parts. 00:00:14
Stem, seed, flower, root. Stem, seed, flower, root. Stem, seed, flower, root. 00:00:20
their parts make them alike. In the forest, you can find leaves, grass, tree trunks, flowers, 00:00:29
and stems. Seed. A seed can grow into a new plant. Roots. Roots hold a plant in place. 00:00:45
They also carry water from the soil to the plant. 00:01:03
Here we have one leaf and then we have many different leaves. 00:01:10
Photosynthesis. 00:01:25
Photosynthesis is the process that plants make their own food. 00:01:27
a chemical process that uses sunlight to turn carbon dioxide into sugars or glucose that the plant cell can use as energy. 00:01:35
The plant uses water from the soil, carbon dioxide from the air, and energy from the sun to create oxygen and glucose. 00:01:52
This process happens inside of the leaves. 00:02:10
Stem. A stem carries water and nutrients to other parts of the plant. 00:02:15
Flower. Flowers on a plant can make seeds to produce new plants. 00:02:30
They also produce pollen. 00:02:40
Here are the different parts of a flower. 00:02:43
The pistil, stigma, style, ovary, receptacle, stock, ovule, sapal, stamen, anther, filament, and petal. 00:02:50
How do plants reproduce? Plants reproduce sexually when pollen enters the ovules. Male gametes are found inside pollen. Female gametes are found in the ovules of a flower. 00:03:14
Pollination. Bees like to drink the sweet nectar that flowers produce. When bees 00:03:39
fly from flower to flower, they move pollen that fertilize the seeds. 00:03:51
