Welcome to the Madrid Bilingual Program. 00:00:00
Once you have received your letter of appointment and are in Madrid, 00:00:04
it is essential that you follow through with certain legal procedures 00:00:08
that are required to regularize your stay in Spain. 00:00:12
In order to read about all these legal requirements, 00:00:18
their deadlines and how to complete them, 00:00:21
we strongly urge you to consult the website Comunidad Bilingüe, 00:00:23
where you will find a tab for auxiliares 00:00:28
with a drop-down menu that deals with your NIE. 00:00:30
We also suggest that you download the document called Guía del Auxiliar, 00:00:34
which provides instructions regarding all these legal requirements. 00:00:38
EU nationals, that is to say citizens from countries 00:00:50
that are part of the European Union, 00:00:53
commonly referred to as comunitarios, 00:00:55
can obtain their NIE at the same time that they register 00:00:58
in the Registro Central de Extranjeros, 00:01:02
in order to obtain what is called a Certificado de Registro. 00:01:04
This must be done within the first three months of your date of entry into Spain. 00:01:09
Your Certificado de Registro will identify you as an EU national 00:01:15
with permanent residence in Spain, 00:01:19
and includes your NIE number. 00:01:21
The document is valid for five years, 00:01:24
so once it is obtained, there is no need to renew it. 00:01:26
Now let's make an appointment to request your Certificado de Registro. 00:01:31
In the text box with the heading Provincia Seleccionada, 00:01:37
select Madrid from the drop-down menu. 00:01:40
In the text box with the heading Trámites Disponibles para la Provincia de Madrid, 00:01:44
select C&P Certificados UE from the drop-down menu. 00:01:49
Read the instructions on the screen with the heading Certificados UE. 00:01:56
Copy and paste this page onto a Word document to use it as a checklist 00:02:01
for what you will have to take with you to the appointment. 00:02:05
We will review it carefully once you have obtained your appointment. 00:02:09
Open two new tabs, which we will come back to 00:02:14
in order to fill out official forms. 00:02:17
The first is Form EX-18, mentioned on the first line, 00:02:20
which will allow you to download the Solicitud de Modelo Oficial, 00:02:27
or official request. 00:02:31
The second is the Tasa Modelo 790 Código 12, mentioned in point 5. 00:02:33
Now click on Entrar. 00:02:43
The third screen asks you to input your personal data 00:02:48
in the text box with the heading 00:02:51
Introduzca los datos del solicitante de la cita. 00:02:53
Input your passport number, your first name and last names, 00:02:58
and write the words you see in the CAPTCHA text box 00:03:02
to prove you are not a robot. 00:03:05
The fourth screen will show you the personal data you have input 00:03:08
and ask you to confirm once again that you are not a robot 00:03:11
by filling out the CAPTCHA text box. 00:03:14
Click on Solicitar cita. 00:03:17
In some cases, you might receive a message which says 00:03:20
that no appointments are available, 00:03:23
and that new appointments will be made available soon. 00:03:25
If this happens, don't worry. 00:03:30
Try again later or the next day, 00:03:32
or try using a different server, 00:03:34
or erasing your browser history. 00:03:36
If the problem persists, 00:03:40
you might want to try obtaining your appointment in person. 00:03:41
Assuming you don't experience this difficulty, 00:03:46
you will now go through five steps to obtain your appointment. 00:03:49
The first step is to request your appointment. 00:03:54
You will be assigned the office located on Padre Piquet No. 18. 00:03:57
Click on Siguiente. 00:04:03
The second step is to provide your cell phone and email address 00:04:06
at which you can be notified. 00:04:10
There is also a warning about not using hotmail accounts 00:04:12
as the notifications sent to these email addresses tend to malfunction. 00:04:15
In the text box Motivo o Tipo de Solicitud de la Cita, 00:04:19
you can write Solicitud de Certificado de Registro. 00:04:23
Write the words you see in the CAPTCHA text box 00:04:28
to prove you are not a robot and click on Siguiente. 00:04:30
The third step is to select your appointment 00:04:36
among the options provided. 00:04:38
You only have five minutes to make your selection 00:04:40
and then you must click on Siguiente. 00:04:43
The fourth step is to confirm your date and time of appointment. 00:04:47
You must click on the box that states that you agree 00:04:51
with the information displayed 00:04:53
and then you should also click on the second box 00:04:56
in order to receive an email reminder 00:04:58
with the information of your appointment 00:05:01
at the email address you have provided. 00:05:03
Click on Confirmar. 00:05:07
The final step indicates that the appointment 00:05:10
has been confirmed and recorded 00:05:12
and reminds you of the date, time and place of your appointment. 00:05:14
It also gives you a Número de Justificante 00:05:18
or appointment number, 00:05:20
which you will need in case you have to cancel 00:05:22
your appointment online. 00:05:24
Now that you have obtained your appointment, 00:05:27
go back to the tab you opened with the heading 00:05:29
Modelo EX-18, 00:05:32
Solicitud de Inscripción en el Registro Central de Extranjeros 00:05:35
and we will show you how to fill it out 00:05:40
before you save it and print it. 00:05:42
In text box 1, Datos del Solicitante, 00:05:46
where the form requests your NIE, 00:05:49
write the following number, 00:05:52
S-2800-513-J. 00:05:54
This is a generic number that we have been given 00:05:59
in order to indicate that you are a Comunidad de Madrid 00:06:02
language assistant who is an EU national. 00:06:04
When you are given your Certificado de Registro, 00:06:08
you will be provided with your real NIE. 00:06:11
This saves you having to obtain your NIE 00:06:14
before requesting your Certificado de Registro. 00:06:16
Remember to check the box at the bottom of the first page 00:06:21
that indicates that you consent 00:06:24
to being notified electronically 00:06:26
at the email address you provided. 00:06:28
In text box 4, Situación en España, 00:06:32
under the subheading Residencia Temporal, 00:06:36
tick the circle that corresponds to 00:06:39
student with sufficient resources and health insurance. 00:06:42
Tick the box that affirms you have health insurance coverage 00:06:47
that covers you during your period of residency 00:06:50
and that it is equivalent to the one provided 00:06:54
by the National Health Insurance. 00:06:56
Below the box you have just ticked, 00:07:00
tick the next one which affirms that you declare 00:07:02
the truthfulness of the information included in this form 00:07:04
as well as the accompanying justifying documents 00:07:08
and that you authorize the administration to verify this. 00:07:11
Print the document and save a copy of it. 00:07:16
Now that you have filled out the request for the appointment, 00:07:20
the last step is to pay an administrative fee 00:07:23
for this request. 00:07:26
The document is called Tasa Modelo 790 Code 12 00:07:28
and it must be paid at a bank before your appointment 00:07:34
so that what you turn in at your appointment 00:07:38
is the stamped copy that proves you have paid the fee. 00:07:40
In order to fill it out, 00:07:44
go back to the tab you opened in an earlier step 00:07:46
and click on Rellenar Formulario y Descargar. 00:07:49
When filling out the form, 00:07:53
you must use the generic NIE number 00:07:55
that we have given you before, S-2800513J. 00:07:57
The box you must check is the one under the heading 00:08:04
Tarjetas de Identidad de Extranjeros, TIE. 00:08:07
You must tick on the box which reads 00:08:11
Certificado de Registro de Residente Comunitario 00:08:13
o Tarjeta de Residencia de Familiar de un Ciudadano de la Unión. 00:08:17
Make sure you print out the complete document 00:08:22
and that you sign the first three pages. 00:08:25
To pay the fee, you can go to any bank. 00:08:28
It's not necessary for you to have opened 00:08:31
a bank account with them. 00:08:33
Now, let us go back to the Word document you created 00:08:37
with all the documents you need to bring to your appointment 00:08:40
to make sure you have everything ready. 00:08:43
The first one is your Model EX-18 00:08:46
which is the official request for your Certificado de Registro. 00:08:49
You must bring the original and a copy. 00:08:53
The second document is your confirmation of your appointment 00:08:56
which you have received in your email and printed out. 00:09:00
The third document is identification, 00:09:03
your passport or national identification document 00:09:06
and a copy of the same. 00:09:10
The third document is your letter of appointment 00:09:13
which will prove that you have sufficient financial means 00:09:17
to cover you during your stay in Spain 00:09:20
and additionally, proof of health insurance. 00:09:23
So, either your European health card or private insurance 00:09:26
and a copy of the conditions of the insurance. 00:09:30
Point four doesn't apply to you because you are not a minor. 00:09:34
And the fifth document is the processing fee 00:09:38
called Tasa Modelo 790 Code 12. 00:09:41
Now, let's see where your appointment will take place. 00:09:46
The location is Brigada Provincial de Extranjería y Fronteras de Madrid, 00:09:50
Avenida Padre Piquer 18, Madrid. 00:09:55
The nearest metro is Campamento which is line 5, the green line. 00:09:59
Finally, this is what your Certificado de Registro will look like. 00:10:04
