Hello class, it's your teacher Shaila. Today we're going to learn about flowers, seeds, and fruits
00:00:00
on page 64 of your natural science book. Some plants have flowers. Most flowers have four parts,
00:00:07
sepal, petals, stamens, and pistil. This picture of a flower has four different parts, two, three,
00:00:17
and four that you must correctly label each part of the flower. These small
00:00:30
white and yellow cords coming from the center outward of the center of the
00:00:40
flower is the pistle. This purple part surrounding the flower is the petal. The
00:00:48
center of the flower is called the stamen and these two small leaves that
00:01:01
come out from the stamen are called the sepal. Please label correctly pistol,
00:01:13
petal, stamen, and sepal. Exercise 2. Please look at this word search and first you
00:01:24
will label each part below. Then find those flower parts in the word search.
00:01:38
This is the petal, this is the pistil, this is the sepal, and this is the stamen.
00:01:46
Please write the flower parts underneath each picture and then find the words
00:02:04
such as petal in the word search, all four words. Moving forward on to page 65
00:02:11
How many seeds do these fruits have? Match. Look at these pictures of fruits
00:02:21
that we have. We have cucumber, peas, cherries, and peaches. Think about how
00:02:30
many seeds each fruit has. A cucumber, does it have one or many seeds? Do peas
00:02:38
have one or many seeds, cherry has one big seed in the center, and peaches has
00:02:49
also one big seed in the center called a core. Please match each picture of the
00:03:01
fruit to whether it has one or many seeds. Moving forward to exercise five,
00:03:10
Write the names of these fruits under each picture. Here we have a pear,
00:03:18
watermelon, orange, apple. Pear, watermelon, orange, apple. So please write those
00:03:30
words underneath the pictures of the fruits. Lastly, exercise six, please number
00:03:47
the pictures in their correct order. These are going to show the life cycle
00:03:57
and growth of a fruit tree. So first, the seed is planted into the ground in the
00:04:05
soil. Number one. Next, the seed sprouts under the soil. Number three, the seed
00:04:16
turns into a tree and grows fruit on its branches. And last, the fruit tree lets
00:04:31
fruit fall to the ground so that it can reproduce. Please number those in their
00:04:41
correct order. One, two, three, and four. Finally, read this last section. Flowers
00:04:48
make seeds. These seeds then make new plants. Some flowers turn into fruits. The
00:04:57
fruit contains seeds. When the fruit falls to the ground, new plants grow from
00:05:05
the seeds. That'll finish up our work today, learning about flowers, seeds, and
00:05:11
fruits. Thank you for listening and completing your work.
