hello everyone we're going to start this exercise talking about the concept of texture 00:00:00
as you can see texture is going to allow us as you can see here in these examples 00:00:10
that i've shown you these balls here those spheres sphere 00:00:16
Spanish esfera 00:00:22
or said in plain English 00:00:25
bola, pelota, whatever you want to 00:00:31
so as you can see here in these three examples of us 00:00:35
we have some furry 00:00:40
fur, peludo 00:00:42
something more woolly 00:00:46
Let's write it. Wooly. Basically it's woolly. As a sheep. Okay. As a sheep. You probably know what a sheep is. Okay. That's a sheep. Okay. That's basically a sheep. Okay. So sheep. They have a woolly body. As the sphere here. And finally spiky. Spiky. 00:00:50
spiky, you know, a spike, it's a pincho, okay, it's a spike, so a spiky texture, as you can see here, 00:01:19
is a shape which is very tightly spiked, okay, I have a lot of spikes, so for each and every one 00:01:31
of those spheres, we have this texture that in our eyes, in our perception, 00:01:43
our nostros ojos they're going to feel in our fingers very differently so the same thing here 00:01:49
this is going to be felt as something soft even this one here the woolly even possibly softer 00:01:58
this one appears in front of us as something quite dangerous and possibly painful so how we are going 00:02:06
to get this three-dimensional texture into a shape as a sphere so that we also use the texture 00:02:16
for making that three-dimension feeling that three-dimension perception stronger 00:02:28
we're going to start as it couldn't be any other way drawing a sphere as you can see here 00:02:38
I am drawing a rounded shape with a hard pencil. I could do the same thing with a 00:02:46
softer pencil. It doesn't matter. Now I'm going to shift into a felt pen. It could 00:02:54
be a thinner felt pen as the one that I'm going to use now. And I'm going to 00:03:04
start using a furry texture so that fur in a three-dimensional object as a sphere we're going 00:03:09
to draw it so all the hairs okay they're going to be showing they're going to be directed into 00:03:22
the center okay that's the center of the sphere so across the boundary the exterior boundary 00:03:32
we are going to draw rather long hairs and those hairs are going to be rather close to one another 00:03:42
and then in the inside of the sphere we're going to draw another layer another layer 00:03:52
another layer of hairs only this time those hairs that i'm drawing they are going to be 00:04:06
very slightly very slightly shorter slightly shorter slightly shorter what does that mean 00:04:19
so we're going to do the same thing with another layer here okay another layer of hairs 00:04:36
and also these hairs they're also going to get gradually gradually okay they're going to get 00:04:49
gradually more separated separated okay so in the outside as i told you before the hairs the fur 00:05:02
it's going to be tighter, it's going to be tighter, tighter is more than just only tight, 00:05:19
okay, tight, está junto, vale, tighter, vale, más junto todavía, okay, so it's going to get 00:05:30
tighter at the outside and gradually they're going to be more separated in 00:05:43
the inside of this fur ball something like this and also gradually those hairs 00:05:51
here in the inside they need to become shorter more separated gradually more 00:06:01
separated and gradually they got to be get shorter how short they need to get shorter till 00:06:11
we just only have some points okay they are not straight lines anymore but they become dots dots 00:06:20
okay a dot is basically the same as a point okay point has also a geometrical sense and dot 00:06:30
is just only the mark of it la marca vale es un punto y point es punto geometrico 00:06:44
vale esto es simplemente la marca y esto tiene un valor geométrico we're going to get into that 00:06:53
a little bit later yet as you can see by using this technique what was initially only just 00:07:04
a two-dimensional circle now becomes quite easily and quite quickly and fast a three-dimensional 00:07:15
furry shape as the one that you are watching right now that makes sense if we get for instance into 00:07:29
this three-dimensional model you see also here we have a spiky texture and yet as you can see 00:07:37
the spikes that are at the outside as you can see here at the outside of the sphere 00:07:46
they are longer and they seem to be tighter than this than the spikes that are in the inside 00:07:52
of of our sphere so according to this perception model okay as you can see it doesn't matter 00:08:01
from what point of view we watch the sphere it's going to be all the time the same 00:08:08
perception. The outside, longer 00:08:17
elements. The outside, they are more 00:08:21
separated and shorter. And according to this 00:08:25
model, to this pattern 00:08:29
to this pattern 00:08:32
each time it will be more separated and it will be smaller, okay, according to that, if we do that, we will always be able to have 00:08:50
this type of textures, okay, thank you very much for your attention and until the next video 00:09:02
