Today we are going to talk about different animals in English and what 00:00:01
they eat. All animals are herbivores, carnivores or omnivores. But what does 00:00:07
this mean? Herbivores are animals which eat plants. For example, carrots, grass, 00:00:17
lettuce, onion. For example, zebras are herbivores. Elephants are herbivores. Rabbits, cows and 00:00:28
giraffes are all herbivores. But what are the characteristics of herbivores? In general, 00:00:39
they have wide, wide teeth and lots of molars. Molars are the teeth at the back of the mouth. 00:00:47
They're very flat so that they can chew the plants and digest the food. 00:00:56
Carnivores eat other animals. 00:01:06
They eat meat or fish or any other animal. 00:01:10
For example, lions are carnivores. 00:01:16
Tigers are carnivores. 00:01:20
crocodiles eat of a fish they're carnivores chameleons and snakes are also carnivores 00:01:21
what are the characteristics of carnivores so they have sharp pointed teeth pointed teeth so that 00:01:31
they can break the flesh of the animal so they can rip the meat to eat the meat they often have 00:01:40
sharp claws like dogs and the jaws are very powerful. So the jaws are very strong. Birds 00:01:49
like the eagle are also carnivores and they have long pointed beaks which are very sharp 00:01:59
so that they can rip the flesh. Omnivores are animals which eat both plants and animals. 00:02:08
For example, humans. We eat plants, we eat salad, we eat vegetables, we eat fruit, but we also eat 00:02:17
meat. We eat steak, we eat chicken, we eat meat and vegetables. Other omnivores are hens, 00:02:30
birds and pigs. Omnivores generally have different types of teeth. They have sharp 00:02:38
teeth called canines and they have flat teeth called molars so that they can eat meat and 00:02:47
vegetables. Omnivore birds like the crow have sharp pointed beaks so that they can eat meat 00:02:57
and they can get seeds and plants. 00:03:07
So, are these animals herbivores, carnivores or omnivores? 00:03:15
