We use it with finished actions, states or habits in the past. We use the past simple when the action started and finished in the past. 00:00:11

So, the past simple tense emphasizes that the action is finished. 00:00:32

Here we have to talk about regular verbs and irregular verbs. 00:00:44
Remember that we formed the past of the regular verbs adding "-ed to the infinitive". 00:00:50
On the other hand, the irregular verbs don't add "-ed". 00:00:57
