Shyla nos introduce el nuevo tema "Matter and materials"
Hello class, it's your teacher Shaila here. Today we will be working on our new unit, Unit 5, and the topic is matter and materials.
00:00:00
So these are all different objects and a material is something that we use, humans use to make things and help us with our lives.
00:00:14
okay so let's begin and turn to page 78 in your natural science book natural materials come from
00:00:30
plants animals or the ground we find them in nature these materials can be made by humans
00:00:44
Cotton, wood, wool, and stone are natural materials.
00:00:55
Cotton and wood come from plants, wool comes from an animal, and stone comes from the ground.
00:01:03
So natural materials can be found in mountains, in the soil.
00:01:13
It can be found from animals, such as sheep, or llama, or pig, or many other animals, or the ground, which will be soil, such as where plants grow.
00:01:22
So let's begin with activity one.
00:01:42
Listen, stick, and write the materials.
00:01:46
so you will listen to me and please because we do not have stickers please
00:01:50
copy what I have drawn for each space in each box so first we have cotton draw
00:01:57
the cotton and write please in calligraphy cotton next we have wood
00:02:08
Please draw a rectangle to draw wood that comes from trees. Next we have wool.
00:02:17
Please draw the picture of wool and write in very neat handwriting. And
00:02:28
finally stone. Here is a picture of a stone that you may use as an example for
00:02:37
you're drawing. Now I have some examples here to show you. So first let's start
00:02:45
with stone. Here I have a crystal and a crystal is very similar to a stone. We
00:02:52
dig them out from the ground and they come in many different shapes and colors
00:03:01
and sizes. Here is an example of stone. Here I have cotton. This is a ball of
00:03:09
cotton. Next, wool. Here is a wool scarf. It is very soft. And finally, wood. My table
00:03:21
here is made out of wood. Now let's go to activity two where you will circle in either green for
00:03:39
natural material or red for man-made material. So something, an object that is made by humans.
00:03:50
So we have first a picture of cotton. Do you think cotton is natural for green or man-made red?
00:04:02
What do you think? We learned that cotton is natural, so circle green. Next here is wool.
00:04:13
is wool natural or man-made? Here we have a cup of a cup for drinking and a cup is
00:04:24
made out of glass. Humans make cups to drink out of. So is this man-made or
00:04:36
natural please circle here we have wood and rock or stone stone and rock are the
00:04:46
same so please circle stone in red or green whatever you think and a marker so
00:05:01
one more time. Cotton, wool, glass, wood, stone, marker. Please circle natural or man-made.
00:05:14
Finally, match the natural material to where it comes from. Stone comes from the ground.
00:05:31
Wood comes from a tree.
