Hello Year 3! So we are going to look at the new vocabulary for Unit 5, which is called 00:00:02
How can we explore the past? Okay, so what we will do as always, I will say the word 00:00:09
twice and then you will repeat it. Okay, so you'll have time to repeat it after I have 00:00:16
said it and then we will go on to the next one. Okay, so these are places that we can 00:00:24
visit, okay? Number one. Wood. Wood. Street. Street. Field. Field. Pavement. Pavement. 00:00:31
So that is what is along the side of the road here and here on both sides. Good. Flats. 00:01:14
flats. Next. Shopping centre. Shopping centre. Good. Gate. Gate. So that is how you get into 00:01:31
the field. Farm. Farm. Motorway. Motorway. And the last one is path. Path. So this is 00:02:03
what this man is walking on the path. Good. So now we are going to look at how do we talk 00:02:45
about these places in the past, okay? So, first, we are going to look at the singular 00:03:00
places, okay? So, these are a wood, a shopping centre, a farm, a motorway, a gate, and a 00:03:13
path. So, these are all singular. And we use there was or there wasn't. So, we have the positive 00:03:26
and the negative. For example, we would say there was a wood or there wasn't a shopping centre. 00:03:37
there was a farm there wasn't a motorway now can you say there was or there wasn't 00:03:49
with one or two examples good perfect now we are going to look at the plural okay 00:04:03
So now the plural places are streets, fields, pavements, and flats. 00:04:23
So again, we have the positive and we have the negative. 00:04:33
So with the positive, we say there were some. 00:04:39
And in the negative, we say there weren't any. 00:04:44
So, for example, there were some streets or there were some fields. 00:04:49
And now an example for the negative. 00:05:01
There weren't any streets or there weren't any fields. 00:05:04
So now can you make one or two examples for a positive and a negative sentence? 00:05:11
Good. So just remember to say there were some if it's positive and if it's negative, there weren't any. 00:05:19
There were not any. Good. 00:05:41
So there we are. As always, you can repeat the video as many times as you want and practice your sentence structure and your pronunciation. 00:05:47
