HIGH SCHOOL TOUR PROJECT - Buildind D
I hopped off the plane at LAX with a dream, my cardigan
00:00:00
Welcome to the land of fame, excess
00:00:04
Am I gonna fit in?
00:00:07
Jumped in the cab, here I am for the first time
00:00:10
Look to my right and I see the Hollywood sign
00:00:13
This is all so crazy
00:00:15
Everybody seems so famous
00:00:17
My tummy's turning and I'm feeling kinda homesick
00:00:20
Too much pressure and I'm nervous
00:00:23
That's when the taxi man turned on the radio
00:00:25
Hello everyone and welcome to our high school here in Spain. Today we are going to show you around
00:00:30
the school and explain how the Spanish upper secondary education works called Bachillerato.
00:00:36
I hope this tour helps you understand what daily life is like for students. This is the place where
00:00:43
the students leave their bicycles and skates here when they have to enter to the high school.
00:00:50
If you come here, you can see the place that is like a gym where we do sometimes physical
00:00:56
education and the next week we are going to do a competition of volleyball, fourth of
00:01:05
ESO.
00:01:11
This is our school building, our Spanish high school combine academic classrooms and computer
00:01:12
rooms and sport facilities in this campus.
00:01:18
Here we have the playground and for a play volleyball.
00:01:21
Here in this room we have different options.
00:01:26
The first one is science that we study chemistry, physics and biology.
00:01:30
The second one is humanity and sociality that we study Latin, Greek and economy.
00:01:36
the second one is art that we study drawing and theatre and the second is technology that
00:01:45
we study digitalisation, physics and technical drawing.
00:01:53
So this is the assembly hall, this is the biggest class in all the high school and here
00:01:59
the headmaster give us some talks along the year and at the beginning of the year.
00:02:04
Also we made here the last year the global classroom that is a compulsory model united
00:02:09
nation that we need and also we made here some exams like the spring contest which is a voluntary
00:02:15
maths exam this is the timeline of the kings of spain especially the Habsburg these are the kings
00:02:25
where spain have lived a long history and this is a normal class of the first of bachillerato
00:02:33
Here the students study and the teachers give homework to the students.
00:02:40
We usually have homework and projects to do.
00:02:48
Here is a screen, in all the classes we have these types of screens where the teachers
00:02:53
can study the PowerPoint and present it to the students.
00:03:00
Here in Spain we have two types of boards.
00:03:07
have the electric board or the screen and we have the traditional board. In here, it teaches us
00:03:09
math, history of the campus, schemes as well as formulas. In Spain, we only take one serious exam
00:03:18
at the end of bachillerato. It's called the PAU and it's much determined in what career we can go
00:03:27
and determines also the college that we go. We are known that in the U.S. you take different
00:03:34
exam called the SAT, the SAT and more exams throughout the high school and the middle school years.
00:03:38
The educational system in Spain and the US is quite different. Here we start school at 8.15
00:03:47
and we leave it some days at 2.10 and some days on 3.20. I am known that in the US you start at
00:03:54
8.30 and you leave every day at 3.45 more or less here in spain the students don't move around the
00:04:03
classes the teachers come and they do the science and they leave the classes have the name of the
00:04:12
class of the year we usually stick together with in all the subjects while in the u.s you move
00:04:17
around to look for the class of the professors let's go girls come on we have to enter the class
00:04:22
This is the gymnasium, where we can ask for open the bathrooms or for the carry of the
00:04:28
computers.
00:04:42
Here in Spain, we call at the high school and schools some historical names of persons.
00:04:43
is the entrepreneurship classroom. Here the vocational training students learn about how
00:04:57
to run a business and how to develop a professional and personal projects. Here in this room we have
00:05:01
the compulsory high school that we finished at 16 years old and later we have another option
00:05:07
that are two years but this is optional and we finish at 18 years old. In United the compulsory
00:05:15
my high school is until 18 years old
00:05:25
for the key of the computer
00:05:35
and this is the download
00:05:39
