With this videotutorial we expect to help you in the dissection of a mammal´s heart.
This is our heart dissection by Marta, Ada and Junkal.
00:00:00
These are the two ventricles. The one in my left that is called the right ventricle and the one in
00:00:03
my right that is the left ventricle. And above the ventricles are the atriums, the right and the left
00:00:08
atrium. Now we are going to identify the back and front part. This is the back part because
00:00:14
its shape is only straight, it has no curve. And now we are going to identify the front part
00:00:20
because it has a curve as we see. That is that part. And this is the bottom part that is called
00:00:26
the myocardium. Now we are going to identify the vena cavae. How? By introducing our tweezers
00:00:32
in holes that are in the right ventricle. As we see Junkal is introducing the tweezers
00:00:41
to find the vena cavae. And we repeat the same process in the left ventricle,
00:00:48
finding the aorta artery as Junkal is doing right now. Then we are going to cut the heart,
00:00:54
to open it to see what's inside. We are going to orientate the heart so that the left ventricle
00:01:03
is in our right hand. And we introduce the tweezers and we cut it in a parallel line
00:01:10
to that big line. As we see here, now that Junkal is opening, is the tricuspid valve that is located
00:01:18
as we said in the right ventricle and also the right ventricle is a field of blood clots.
00:01:27
This is the, as we see Junkal is showing us all the parts of the right ventricle. Now we repeat
00:01:36
the same process on the left ventricle. We put the tweezers in the aorta artery and we are cutting
00:01:44
the heart on a parallel line of the one that we did before. We cut it, it's a little bit difficult
00:01:52
because it's a heart because it has a lot of nerves and everything. And as we see here is the
00:02:02
mitral valve and also is completely filled with blood clots. And this is a photo of our heart.
