Video en inglés resumen del tema ecosistemas.
Hello, this is a podcast about ecosystems, but to start, the first thing we should know
00:00:09
is what is an ecosystem?
00:00:18
Well, if you don't know what is an ecosystem, I'm going to tell you now.
00:00:21
An ecosystem is a community of living things and their environment, the world that surround
00:00:27
those living things. Ecosystems can be very different ones from each other. Ones can be
00:00:35
as big as an ocean and others can be as small as just a little pond. What we have to know
00:00:44
about an ecosystem? In an ecosystem, as we have said before, there are going to be living
00:00:52
things and also no living things. The living things are going to be called
00:00:59
biotic factors and the no living things are going to be called abiotic factors.
00:01:05
Biotic factors are usually divided into two groups, fauna and flora. Fauna are
00:01:14
animals like dogs frogs crabs any other and flora are the plants that are in
00:01:23
that place like trees buses grass etc the abiotic factors are the no living
00:01:32
things that are in that area like for example rocks water or the sunlight one
00:01:43
ecosystem is going to be different from another because of the place on earth
00:01:52
where it is. Depending on the place the weather is going to be different, the
00:01:58
light, the temperature, everything is going to be different so animals and
00:02:05
plants are also going to be different depending on that temperature or rain.
00:02:11
Now, we are going to see some examples of ecosystems.
00:02:17
We have the grassland ecosystems.
00:02:23
We can have a temperate grassland or the most known one, the savannah.
00:02:26
Savannas are located in the tropical areas.
00:02:35
This tropical area has two seasons, one in summer when it rains a lot and the other in
00:02:39
winter when it doesn't rain even a little the lariat savannah is located in africa
00:02:46
but the grasslands are not places where it rains a lot so there are not a lot of trees
00:02:56
there are more grass and that's because they are called grasslands on the other hand
00:03:04
And if we talk about rainy places, we can think that there can't really grow trees,
00:03:10
so we can see the forest ecosystems.
00:03:18
There are different forest ecosystems depending on their place on Earth.
00:03:23
We can find Echiniferous forests, Edesidious forests, the tropical rainforest, or here
00:03:29
in Spain, the Mediterranean forest.
00:03:36
The most known and most beautiful ones are the tropical rainforests.
00:03:40
These tropical rainforests are located in the equator and the temperatures are really
00:03:47
high and it rains a lot.
00:03:53
Another ecosystems are deserts.
00:03:57
Deserts are the hottest and driest places on earth.
00:04:01
During the day the temperatures are really, really high, but at night they drop to 0 degrees.
00:04:05
The largest desert in the world is the Sahara desert that is in the north of Africa.
00:04:14
All these ecosystems that we have seen till now are on land, but there are also ecosystems
00:04:21
in water.
00:04:28
We have marine ecosystems and freshwater ecosystems.
00:04:30
Marine ecosystems are those that are in salt water, like for example coral reefs.
00:04:37
Coral reefs are one of the most diverse ecosystems on Earth.
00:04:45
They are home to about 25% of all marine life.
00:04:49
There are also the shoreline, that is the place where the sea meets the land, where
00:04:55
we can find also a lot of organisms like safis, mollusks and sea urchins.
00:05:02
Freshwater ecosystems are those that are not in salt water, so we can't find them in lakes,
00:05:11
rivers, streams and ponds.
00:05:21
finished we are going to talk about a special ecosystem that is the urban ecosystem. It's the
00:05:25
one that we know the most because it's where we actually live. The urban ecosystem has a lot of
00:05:35
artificial elements that humans have made, but there are also some natural elements. Most of
00:05:43
them are located in parks. Humans instead of adapting to ecosystems like other
00:05:53
animals do, they have adapted the ecosystems to themselves.
00:06:00
Summarize all this information I can said that ecosystems are those areas in
00:06:07
the planet where different animals and plants lives and adapt to that place.
00:06:14
hope you have learned more about ecosystems. See you soon!
