Welcome! If you remember, on our last lesson we talked about the climographs, and we create one.
00:00:10
So, climographs are simple graphics where we represent temperature and precipitation.
00:00:31
As I said, they are simple but useful, because we can create connections between climate and human conditions or lifestyle.
00:00:39
What do we need to create a climograph? We need a few things as you can see here.
00:00:48
It's really important to have a graph paper and at the beginning use a pencil.
00:00:56
Okay so for the first climograph take the data from the photocopy. Firstly
00:01:04
write the months, then draw two vertical lines on the left for the temperatures
00:01:10
and on the right for the rainfall. Remember that the precipitations are
00:01:19
always a multiple of the temperatures. In this case, temperatures are twice the
00:01:25
precipitation. So as you can see, we put 10 in temperatures and it's the same as
00:01:32
20 in precipitations. Just in this case you will see that for each climograph
00:01:38
maybe you have to change these numbers. If you add the data to your
00:01:44
climograph it would be really useful when we start working with it.
00:01:52
You should start with the temperatures and then complete the
00:01:57
precipitation remember that temperatures always in red and just with a line and
00:02:02
temperatures in blue bars wait a minute I just said temperatures for both no see
00:02:10
it's easy to make mistakes so be careful temperatures red precipitations blue
00:02:20
bars. Okay now that we have our climograph let's see how to analyze it.
00:02:28
These slides contain information really useful for our commentary because
00:02:36
depending on the temperatures and the precipitations we are going to be able
00:02:42
to classify each climate. Read it carefully and use it for your
00:02:47
commentaries. Here I add a map with the climate zones of the Earth and finally
00:02:52
the main characteristics of the hot, temperate and cold climates. In order to
00:02:59
write a commentary we are going to use the IDAP technique. I give you the first
00:03:06
one completed. You only have to copy it on your notebook and for the rest
00:03:12
climographs use the same structure and adapt it to the different data.
00:03:18
Obviously, you can use the same introduction and description for all your commentaries.
00:03:23
The only part that you have to change is the analysis and the conclusions. Remember to write
00:03:30
in the conclusions the type of climate. You will see that it's really easy, so good luck!
