Lets make a paper crane that moves its wings

Descargar la transcripción

Hi everyone, so today I'll be teaching you how to make a paper crane that can fly. 00:00:01
So the only materials that you need for it are a blank sheet of paper, some crayons, some pens, 00:00:06
or some colored pencils, and a pair of scissors. So the very first thing that you want to do is use 00:00:14
your markers and decorate one of the sides of the piece of paper. I've already done that as 00:00:21
you can see I made stripes in purple and blue on one side of the paper and I've left the other side 00:00:26
blank. So once you have done that you are done with your markers and you can put them away as well. 00:00:32
The very first thing that we have to do now is make our piece of paper into a square. In order 00:00:39
to do that we're going to line up the short end of the piece of paper with one of the longer ends. 00:00:44
So all we're going to do is fold it over and match up the edges and make a point at one end. 00:00:51
And it's very important that all of the creases that we make and all of the folds that we make 00:00:59
are very exact and very strong. So it's really important that you have a table or a flat surface 00:01:04
so that you can make these folds very strong. So we folded our piece of paper like this 00:01:11
and this is the extra part here that we're going to be cutting off. You can either use your scissors 00:01:17
right now and cut along here or you can make one more fold to help you cut. I'm gonna go ahead and 00:01:24
fold it. I'll fold it in half right along this line here. So I have this extra flap of paper 00:01:31
that I just fold it up and this line here will help me cut. So now we're gonna take our scissors 00:01:42
and just cut along that line. So now we have our piece of paper that's a square and we have an 00:01:50
extra piece of paper and our scissors that we no longer need. So we're done with that. Okay so we 00:02:04
have our piece of paper and the very first thing that we did was fold it in half. We're going to 00:02:11
open it up and we're going to fold it in half the other way. So we have a triangle. Now we're going 00:02:17
to open it up and we're going to fold it in half this time in order to make it a rectangle. 00:02:34
Now that you have your rectangle, open it up, turn it, and fold it in half the other 00:02:49
way to make another rectangle. So by now, you should have folded your piece of paper 00:02:56
in half four times and made four different creases. Once we've done that, we're going 00:03:07
to open it up and fold it in half one last time into a triangle. It's very important this time 00:03:13
that your decoration or the side of the paper that you colored is on the outside, just like I have it 00:03:19
here. Once you have your triangle, we're going to fold it again to make another triangle. This next 00:03:25
step is a little bit tricky, so watch carefully. You're going to open it up and the fold that you 00:03:38
just made, you're going to put one half of your triangle on the table in front of you and the 00:03:44
other half sticking straight up. You're then going to open it up and squash it down. So this tip here 00:03:48
will come down here and you have a square or a diamond right here that you made. We're now going 00:03:59
flip it over and pull up this side of the triangle and do the same thing. This 00:04:10
tip here will come all the way down and you want to flatten it. So now you have a 00:04:17
square. You have one end at the top that's completely closed. On each side 00:04:27
you have two flaps and on the very bottom it's open. You're now going to lay 00:04:33
the piece of paper in front of you so that the open end is towards you. We're now going to make 00:04:40
an ice cream cone. In order to do that, we want to have the bottom edges come towards the center. 00:04:46
So we're going to take the top two flaps that are facing towards you and fold them into center to 00:04:53
make an ice cream cone. So as you can see, I started with my square. I took the two edges 00:04:59
and I folded them towards the center line. We're then going to flip the paper over and 00:05:17
do the exact same thing. Bring these two edges into the center line. We brought these two edges 00:05:25
towards the center, just like that. And we have an ice cream cone. Now on this line up here that 00:05:46
you can see, we're just going to fold that triangle down and make a crease. Flip it over 00:05:53
and do the exact same thing on the other side. Now we're going to unfold all of the folds that 00:05:59
we just made. So open up this side and open up this side. The next step, we're going to lay the 00:06:08
piece of paper down and we're going to pull up the very top layer. On the crease that you just 00:06:19
made here, you're going to make sure it stays closed and you're going to pull it up until you 00:06:27
reach that crease there. We're then going to flatten it out by pulling it open and on 00:06:31
the creases you already have, flattening it. So then we have a diamond shape. I'll do that 00:06:40
one more time. You have your square. You're going to open it up to the crease that we 00:06:52
just made, pull it all the way up, and then pull the sides in and flatten it. 00:07:00
We're then going to flip it over and do the exact same thing. Pull it up to the 00:07:09
crease that we have and bring the sides in. And we have a diamond. We should have 00:07:16
on the top two flaps, on the side it opens up, and on the bottom we have two 00:07:33
legs. Now what we're gonna do is we're gonna open up the side and we're gonna 00:07:39
pull the leg up and we're gonna flip it inside out. It's kind of difficult but 00:07:46
it's going to make the crane shape. So I'll show you one more time closer. Open 00:07:54
it and flip it inside out and pull it up at a night or a 45 degree angle and then 00:08:07
you're going to close it and crease it along the bottom here. We're going to do the same 00:08:15
exact thing on the other side. Open it, flip it inside out, and then crease it right at 00:08:21
the bottom. Now you're going to choose one side in order to make the head. We're going 00:08:30
to open it and fold it down to make the head. So it was flipped up, and you just open it 00:08:37
fold it down to make the head. Now the very last thing that we need to do is 00:08:48
position the wings. So hold it at the base of the head and pull the wings 00:08:53
forward just a little bit and fold them down. This crease doesn't have to be hard. 00:08:58
This is just a light crease so that the wings go down. Now if you hold the crane 00:09:04
at the base of the neck and you pull the tail gently, the wings should flap. And 00:09:10
And there you are, your paper crane. 00:09:14
