Alright, so if you watched my first video this week, you know that this week I'm talking about the Getty Museum Challenge on social media, 00:00:00
in which people are recreating famous paintings, famous artistic works, with only things that they can find inside of their own homes. 00:00:08
So it's a really great opportunity to get creative and really see what you can use in your home to make things look like what is in these paintings, the elements of these paintings. 00:00:17
So my first example today I'm going to put up on the screen and you can see it 00:00:28
is a portrait so it's just one woman sitting there in the painting she has a 00:00:33
green background behind her and she's wearing a bonnet and it's tied beneath 00:00:37
her chin and she's also wearing a nice fancy shirt so it comes up it has a high 00:00:45
collar almost a turtleneck and there's some fluff and lace around that and 00:00:50
she's in profile, so it's the side of her face that you're looking at in that portrait. So what 00:00:56
I did in order to recreate that painting is I didn't have anything green to use as a background, 00:01:01
so I used this dark blue blanket that you could see here and I hung it up on my wall. I had this 00:01:07
green sweatshirt that I used, but the collar wasn't high enough because this is just a normal 00:01:14
scoop neck collar. So what I did is I put this almost turtleneck underneath it and 00:01:19
then I didn't have a bonnet to wear but my roommate Mary had this white bucket 00:01:28
hat that I put on and it does not have a tie you can see but what I did was I 00:01:34
took this belt and I folded it in half and tied it in the picture which will 00:01:39
give you this result. So that was one of my attempts at recreating a famous 00:01:46
painting. Obviously you can see not everything is exactly the same but I 00:01:56
tried my best with what I had in my home and I hope that it can serve as an 00:01:59
example to show you how to get creative if you decide to do the challenge 00:02:04
