And he's going to read us some chapters of a book. 00:01:26

What's the title? 00:01:31

The title is called The Adventures of Captain Underpants. 00:01:32

There's action, thrills, laughs, and it's an epic novel by Dave Pilkey. 00:01:35

Thank you for telling us the author. 00:01:41

Okay, whenever you're ready, we'll listen. 00:01:44

We're ready to listen to you. 00:01:47

Chapter 1, George and Harold. 00:01:50

Meet George Beard and Harold Hutchins. 00:01:52

George is the kid on the left with the tie and the flat top. 00:01:55

Harold is the one on the right with the t-shirt and the bad haircut. 00:01:57

Flower Shop, pick your own roses. 00:02:02

flower shop pick our noses george and harold were best friends they had a lot in common they lived 00:02:04

right next door to each other and they were both in the same fourth grade class at drone horowitz 00:02:12

elementary school george and harold were user usually responsible kids whenever anything bad 00:02:20

happened George and Harold were usually responsible but don't get a wrong idea about these two 00:02:27

George and Harold were actually very nice boys no matter what everybody else thought they were good 00:02:35

sweet and lovable well okay maybe they weren't so sweet and lovable they were but they were good 00:02:42

nonetheless it's just that george and harold each had a silly streak a kilometer long usually that 00:02:50

silly streak was hard to control sometimes it got them into trouble and once it got them into big 00:02:59

big trouble but before i can tell you that story i have to tell you this story chapter two treehouse 00:03:07

comics inc after a hard day of cranking jokes pulling pranks and causing mayhem at school 00:03:15

george and harold like to rush to the old tree house in george's backyard inside the tape inside 00:03:24

the tree house were two big old fluffy chairs a table a cupboard crammed with junk food and a 00:03:32

padlock, crate filled with pencils, pens, and stacks and stacks of paper. 00:03:41

Now Harold loved to draw and George loved to make up stories. 00:03:49

And together, the two boys spent hours and hours writing and drawing their very own comic books. 00:03:54

Over the years, they had created hundreds of their own comics, 00:04:02

staring dozens of their own superheroes. 00:04:07

First, there was Dog Man. 00:04:11

Then came Timmy the Talking Toilet. 00:04:13

And who could forget the Amazing Cow Lady. 00:04:15

But the all-time greatest superhero they had ever made up had to be the Amazing Captain Underpants. 00:04:18

George came up with the idea. 00:04:29

Most superheroes look like they're flying around in their underwear. 00:04:31

He said, well, this guy actually is flying around in his underwear. 00:04:36

The two boys laughed and laughed. 00:04:42

Yeah, said Harold, he could fight with wedgie power. 00:04:44

George and Harold spent entire afternoons writing and drawing their comic adventures of Captain Underpants. 00:04:48

He was their coolest superhero ever. 00:04:56

Luckily for the boys, the secretary at Jerome Horwitz Elementary School was much too busy to keep an eye on the photocopier. 00:05:00

So whenever they got a chance, Harold and George would sneak into the office and run off several hundred copies of their latest Captain Underpants adventure. 00:05:10

after they sold their homemade comics on the playground for 50 cents each. 00:05:23

Chapter 3. The Adventures of Captain Underpants 00:05:30

It was a time of darkness and despair for planet Earth. 00:05:45

bad guys had taken over the streets and all the superheroes in the world were too old to fight 00:05:50

evil hey ha ha then a long time and new improved extra strength superhero tra la la look up in the 00:05:56

sky it's a bird it's a plane it's an exile of sandwich no way i'm captain underpants captain 00:06:06

underpants was faster than a speedy waistband zoom more powerful than boxer shorts and able 00:06:13

to leap tall buildings without getting a wedgie tra la la night and day captain underpants watch 00:06:20

over the city fighting for truth justice and all that is pre-shrunk and cottony meanwhile 00:06:27

at the nearby elementary school turn the page it was stinky taco surprise day at the cafeteria 00:06:34

Yuck! 00:06:42

Everybody hated it so much, they all threw it away. 00:06:43

Trash. 00:06:47

Trash. 00:06:48

Soon, the cafeteria food came to life. 00:06:48

I am the inedible hunk. 00:06:52

The monster ran around the school, eating everything in his sight. 00:06:55

Munch. 00:06:59

Hell, the inedible hunk just ate up 15 folding chairs and the gym teacher. 00:07:00

Oh no, not the folding chairs, principal. 00:07:06

This looks like a job for Troll-a-la Captain Underpants. 00:07:10

Captain Underpants shot, shoot out lots of underwear at the monster, but it didn't do any good. 00:07:14

Munch, munch, zip. 00:07:22

So Captain Underpants took off running. 00:07:24

The Inedible Hunk chased him. 00:07:27

Grr, help, and chased him, and chased him. 00:07:29

Finally, the Inedible Hunk got too tired and thirsty to chase Captain Underpants' boys. 00:07:32

How about a nice drink of water? 00:07:38

So the monster took a long drink from a shiny white toilet bowl. 00:07:41

Gulp, gulp, when suddenly, flush! 00:07:49

Hooray for Captain Underpants! 00:07:52

And so, the inedible hunk got flushed away and was never heard from again. 00:07:54

Tra-la-la! 00:07:59

Now, Mr. Krupp was the meanest, sourest old principal in the whole history of Jerome Horowitz Elementary School. 00:08:34

He hated laughter and singing. 00:08:43

He hated the sounds of children playing at break time. 00:08:46

In fact, he hated children altogether. 00:08:49

And guess which two children Mr. Krupp hated most of all? 00:08:53

Who? 00:08:57

If you guessed George and Harold, you're right. 00:08:58

Mr. Krupp hated George and Harold. 00:09:02

He hated their pranks and their wisecracks. 00:09:04

He hated their silly attitude and their constant giggling. 00:09:09

And he especially hated those awful Captain Underpants comic books. 00:09:15

I'm going to get those boys one day, Mr. Krupp vowed. 00:09:20

One day, very, very soon. 00:09:24
