Nanotechnology. NASA is studying how to make things the size of atoms. 00:00:11
Wow, how small is that? 00:00:16
Nano is the prefix for one billion. 00:00:18
A hundred nanometers is still a thousand times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. 00:00:21
Why would we need things that small? 00:00:26
The smaller the computer parts, the better they work. 00:00:28
We could then make little nanorobots that could be programmed to fix things we can't easily see or reach. 00:00:30
Some scientists think they could even help repair the ozone layer. 00:00:36
Can nanotechnology shrink people? 00:00:39
No, but someday we might be able to send nanorobots inside a person to search out and destroy bad cells like cancer. 00:00:41
