The solar system. The Sun is a star. All the planets go around it. That movement is called an orbit. 00:00:00
To orbit means to go around something. 00:00:13
The planets. There are eight planets in our solar system. 00:00:20
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. 00:00:25
All of them orbit the Sun. The Sun is a star. The Sun is in the centre of the solar system. 00:00:34
All the planets go around it. The Sun gives us light and heat. 00:00:46
Earth. We live on the planet Earth. The Earth is spherical, round, and has water and land. 00:00:56
Thanks to water and air, there is life on our planet. 00:01:06
The moon. The moon is a satellite. It orbits around Earth. It takes about 28 days to go all the way around. That's why we see it differently each night. 00:01:10
Its phases are new moon, first quarter, full moon, last quarter, rotation, day and night. 00:01:29
Earth spins around itself. This movement is called rotation and it lasts one day, 24 hours. 00:01:40
