Hello everyone. Welcome back to class. My name is Mr. King. Today, we're going to be talking about living things. 00:00:06
This is, of course, another study presentation. Feel free to watch it again if you need more practice. 00:00:16
Here we go. Life cycles and animals. We have four cycles to memorize, okay? 00:00:24
here we have a seed a plant okay it starts off as a baby this cycle is called born born it's 00:00:37
created then okay then the next cycle is grow grow next it does something called reproduce 00:00:51
reproduce it makes a lot of more plants okay just like people make more babies plants make 00:01:06
other plants okay and then like all living things the last cycle is die die okay the plant dies so 00:01:15
you have born grow reproduce and die okay here we go all living things have a 00:01:29
life cycle life cycle this is the life cycle right here these four stages this 00:01:44
is the cycle they are born grow reproduce and die good job let's see if 00:01:53
you can remember the four cycles can you say them now here we go first one good 00:02:07
born what's the second cycle what's the second cycle good grow okay and what's 00:02:16
the third? Good. Reproduce. And what's the last one? Good. Die. Die. Born. Grow. Reproduce. And 00:02:27
die. Now we have two different types of animals. We have domestic and wild. Domestic animals are 00:02:44
animals that live with humans maybe in a house or at a farm farm right so you 00:02:58
have a cat a dog is a domestic animal you have a chicken or a cow right at 00:03:07
farms you see these animals very friendly to humans right very close to 00:03:16
humans and then you have wild wild these animals are a little bit more dangerous right you have to 00:03:22
be careful you have an alligator a snake an elephant and a monkey right these are called 00:03:31
wild. So, you have domestic and wild. Animals can be wild or domestic, right? Good. Next one. 00:03:41
Animals move and adapt. Adapt is like change, right? Adapt. You can change to an environment. 00:03:58
Move and adapt. Here we go. Animals walk, climb, fly, jump, swim, or slither. Slither. Okay? 00:04:08
First one here, you have a cat walking. Cats can walk, of course. So can humans. Here you have a 00:04:28
Monkey climbing. 00:04:37
Okay? 00:04:40
Monkeys can climb. 00:04:40
Then you have a bird that knows how to fly. 00:04:42
Fly. 00:04:47
You have a kangaroo that loves to jump. 00:04:48
Fish swim. 00:04:54
And snakes slither. 00:04:57
Okay? 00:05:00
Slither. 00:05:01
Here we go. 00:05:02
Now it's your turn to repeat. 00:05:03
What's this? 00:05:05
walk and what's this climb and what's this fly and what's this good jump two more left here we 00:05:07
go what's this swim and the last one my favorite here we go what's this good listen one more time 00:05:24
slither slither okay here we go on to the next section animals move and adapt and this is the 00:05:37
second part polar bears have white fur fur furs like hair but it's on the skin fur fish have fins 00:05:48
fins this is on the top of the fish and they use it to swim basically monkeys have a long tail tail 00:06:04
right this is another tail tail they can use it to grab things right to climb here's another 00:06:20
example of adaptation. Camels have a hump. Hump. And there, they have the water, right? They have 00:06:30
water in that big hump. Nice. Animals adapt to their environment. Environment. Okay? That's an 00:06:40
important word if you don't know it look it up you can use Google environment 00:06:54
animals nutrition and reproduction animals can be three different things 00:07:01
right three things first you have herbivores can you repeat that herbivores 00:07:10
good herbivores eat only plants only plants okay then you have carnivores 00:07:20
carnivores can you say that with me carnivores good carnivores eat other 00:07:33
other animals right like meat carnivores omnivores omnivores can you say that with me omnivores eat 00:07:42
other animals and plants so they eat both of these things right they eat plants and other animals or 00:07:57
meat, okay? That's called an omnivore. Animals' nutrition and reproduction. Animals can be 00:08:06
viviparous, okay? Or oviparous. Can you say this with me? Viviparous. Good. Or oviparous. 00:08:16
good here we go let's find out what they mean viviparous animals are born from their mother's 00:08:30
body right mother's body so the mother has the baby okay the mother makes the baby and then you 00:08:40
have oviparous, which are animals are born from eggs, okay? These animals come from eggs. Oviparous 00:08:52
eggs, viviparous mothers, okay? So humans, we are viviparous, okay? But chickens are oviparous, 00:09:04
okay does that make sense good awesome thanks so much for coming to class 00:09:17
everybody replay the video if you need to go over it one more time see you in 00:09:23
