Speaking of the web, NASA Connect travels south to Norfolk, Virginia for today's web-based activity. 00:00:00
Hi, Norbert and I are here at Nauticus in Norfolk, Virginia. 00:00:07
This maritime center is huge and features over 150 interactive exhibits. 00:00:10
Nauticus and NASA are teaming up for this program of NASA Connect 00:00:15
to introduce you to the show's online activity, the NASA EduTour. 00:00:18
But first, with a little help from Norbert, let's take a quick tour of Norbert's online laboratory 00:00:22
and observe the type of lab features that are just a mouse-click away to support the NASA Connect programs. 00:00:28
The digital content found in the lab makes a vast collection of information, ideas, resources, and experts 00:00:34
accessible to you at any time. 00:00:40
Okay, everybody, well, as you can see, we are here now inside Nauticus 00:00:43
where some students from the Chrome Club have gathered to introduce you to the NASA EduTour, 00:00:47
a digital tour of the NASA Langley Aircraft Landing Dynamics Facility. 00:00:51
Now, this digital tour has been designed to augment the video presentation 00:00:55
and to provide you, the user, the opportunity to use this information in ways like NASA scientists. 00:00:59
So, let's take a sneak peek at the tour. 00:01:04
From the NASA Connect website, go to Norbert's lab where you'll find a button that gets you to the ALDF EduTour. 00:01:07
There are four main parts that make up this NASA lab, propulsion, test carriage, track, and arrestment system. 00:01:14
When you start the tour, you'll get information about how the propulsion system works 00:01:21
and also the science behind the system. 00:01:26
Once you understand that, you'll do an activity that helps you visualize the mathematics and science concepts. 00:01:29
You'll play some animations, then answer questions about what you've observed. 00:01:36
There's an activity for each one of the four parts and related questions that will test your knowledge. 00:01:40
But we want you to see the website for yourself, so that's all we'll show you now. 00:01:46
Oh, by the way, there is a review at the end of the tour that will summarize what you've learned during your visit to the lab. 00:01:50
A special thanks to our university student mentors from the AIAA Hampton Road Student Branch. 00:01:57
The AIAA, as a special Connect partner, offers its students as mentors to registered Connect classrooms. 00:02:02
To learn more about the mentoring program, check out our website. 00:02:08
Bringing to you the power of digital learning, I'm Shelley Canright for NASA Connect Online. 00:02:12
Bye! 00:02:18
