Hi everyone! Welcome to this video for your English class in which I'm going to tell you 00:00:02
the difference between hope and wish. Those are two words that sometimes we confuse. 00:00:09
So hope means to want and expect something to happen. For example, I hope you are successful. 00:00:18
wish means that you would like something to happen like oh I wish I was rich 00:00:25
hope is more likely while wish expresses an unlikely event wish is followed by the past 00:00:32
simple or the past perfect while hope is followed by the present so how would you say 00:00:47
these sentences in English. The first one, I hope to see you soon. Second one, I hope 00:00:57
you pass the exam. The third one, I wish I had gone to the party. And last one, if I 00:01:08
were rich, I wish I were rich. So that's all. I hope you found this useful. Thanks 00:01:19
Thanks for watching. 00:01:29
