Right, today we are going to work on the speaking part of this unit, so we are going to use a new application to do it online. 00:00:08
We are going to work with VoiceThread, and I'm going to explain in a minute how it works. 00:00:17
Can you hear me properly? Okay, so we continue. 00:00:23
I'm going to show you just a very short video, right, to see how it works. 00:00:40
I'm going to share the screen with you. 00:00:45
Welcome to VoiceThread, simply speaking. 00:00:48
VoiceThread is a cloud-based application that allows you to upload many different types of media, 00:01:07
such as images, videos, documents, and presentations, 00:01:11
into a central place for an asynchronous group conversation. 00:01:15
Once you have put your media into VoiceThread, it works like a slideshow. 00:01:19
You can then share this VoiceThread with others by either sending them the link 00:01:23
or embedding it in a webpage, as you might do with a YouTube video. 00:01:26
Those that you share it with can then make comments on any of the content in your VoiceThread at any time. 00:01:29
They can make comments either by microphone, webcam, phone, text, or by uploading an audio file. 00:01:34
These comments then appear in the VoiceThread so that all of those with access can review the comments as well as see who made them. 00:01:41
okay up to here right so what you have to do is just go to your virtual 00:01:48
classroom here right and click on this link English literature that is the unit 00:01:58
we are working on and here you find the link to voice 00:02:06
thread right so you just click here and it opens right directly so you have the 00:02:12
pictures of several writers or plays that we have been mentioning in class 00:02:22
right so what you have to do is add a comment it's picking part right so if 00:02:29
you're clicking here right you have to log in anyway so if you click on the 00:02:35
picture you just have to upload or just pick directly over the picture and then 00:02:41
save your comments. So if you have a look we have different pictures right 00:02:49
Dickens, Bram Stoker, Frankenstein right you have different pictures in here 00:02:54
Alice in Wonderland right and some of them you'd have to try to guess what are 00:03:02
they related to right okay so this is what you have to do in this unit right 00:03:08
this is your speaking part if you have any comments just let me know if you 00:03:16
have any question you can also use the form you have in the virtual classroom 00:03:22
in case you have any question okay any question there right okay so see you 00:03:28
later then bye this is how the project looks like when your students upload 00:03:50
their comments right so you have here the pictures right and then on the side 00:04:04
you see the comments of your students right if you follow to the next picture 00:04:09
right you have some more in here right so you can see the comments your 00:04:16
made you can also comment as well right if you click in here you have the 00:04:25
different ways of commenting either with your microphone with the cam and 00:04:30
uploading your comment or even typing right so let's listen just a bit to the 00:04:34
comments I like the presentation of Alice in Wonderland because it's a story 00:04:44
I like so much a part of the Disney film that it is one of the most I like the 00:04:50
The two books about Tally Wonderland are fantastic. 00:04:55
I didn't read both books at all, but just the most important parts. 00:04:59
The Tim Burton's feel were so interesting because it is a mix of books and not only 00:05:03
the first. 00:05:08
The characters are original and different and the story is full of philosophy aspects. 00:05:10
Okay, this is an example, right? 00:05:15
You have some more, right? 00:05:18
When you have... 00:05:20
Right? 00:05:22
So everyone can comment, there is no limit, right? 00:05:24
Okay, that's it. 00:05:32
I hope you enjoyed and you find it useful. 00:05:34
