Un grupo de alumnos del Proyecto Comenius del IES Fortuny entrevista a una de las responsables del Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear.
What did you study there? Was it by vocation?
00:00:08
Yes, evidently it was by vocation. I think that when you finish a degree you have to do something that you like.
00:00:23
I had doubts about studying physics or chemistry, and finally I decided to study chemistry.
00:00:30
That was my career, the career that I studied.
00:00:37
Did you have to enter a position to enter the General Security Center?
00:00:40
Well, yes, because apart from studying chemistry, when I finished my degree,
00:00:44
I spent two years in the Higher Council of Scientific Investigations,
00:00:50
with a research scholarship, in theory to do the doctoral thesis, but well, the scholarship was over, the doctoral thesis was not going very far
00:00:54
and then I started doing a master's degree in nuclear engineering that was given at the CIEMAT, a master's degree of one year
00:01:05
and after when I finished that master's degree, my logical path was to continue working in the world of nuclear energy
00:01:14
and I found a job in a nuclear engineering company, a private company,
00:01:22
and I was working there for quite a few years,
00:01:28
until five or six years ago,
00:01:31
the assumptions came out that this was for nuclear engineers,
00:01:37
and I joined them and they took me out.
00:01:41
You have a working day at work, what do you do?
00:01:44
It is a daily work, it is not just a job, it is an evaluation and inspection.
00:01:52
In the evaluation part, I analyze documents or evaluations that the central authorities have made,
00:01:58
and we analyze if they are well done or not.
00:02:09
And then, additionally, we do an inspection work,
00:02:13
I assure you that the maintenance that is done by the security teams of the national hospitals is well done.
00:02:16
Do you take a lot of work with you?
00:02:22
Sometimes. Very few times I have worked. It is not a job.
00:02:24
When I worked in a private company, I had to see how to make my work more productive.
00:02:29
Do you have many holidays?
00:02:36
On average, the vacations are 22 working days in all parts, but as we are employees, additionally we have the so-called free days available, which are 6 additional days.
00:02:40
What is always true is that since we have to travel a lot,
00:02:56
because we have to inspect the power plants,
00:02:59
when we travel on weekends or when we do a lot of extra work,
00:03:02
they give us what they call compensation days,
00:03:06
which are days off to compensate for the days we have been working extra.
00:03:08
How much do you charge?
00:03:16
I can tell you that my last payroll, so clean,
00:03:18
I have charged 2,300 euros.
