Today we are going to summarize the main ideas about what technology is and the project method. 00:00:02
So, to this question, what is technology? 00:00:20
And it's very difficult to answer this question because it's not very easy. 00:00:29
and technology is to make our life easier in order to reach this main 00:00:34
target. It usually creates objects. Objects which are very useful but they 00:00:58
are in the natural and it could be the main characteristic of technology. 00:01:11
this process which consists in the creation of new objects, of tools. To do this, technology 00:01:19
usually make things by a method. We know, we call the project method and it's 00:01:39
more important in technology. Our activity is based on this, on making 00:01:54
different kind of projects. You should follow three steps, which are design, 00:02:01
production, what you have designed, and finally evaluate 00:02:14
if you have reached the objectives or not. The first of these steps 00:02:23
is not very simple because firstly someone proposed you a new project, gives you some 00:02:35
information about what she or he needs to ease his or her life. 00:02:48
so before doing anything you should share information because our technological development 00:03:06
is very big so it is very possible that other people have answered the 00:03:24
question you have to answer. Apart from this our technological development is 00:03:39
very complex and if you if you want to make something is better to improve or 00:03:51
is better and have something to help you at the beginning so in any case you need 00:04:04
to a search information to create and to answer the question you have to 00:04:17
answer. After that you should create ideas and to do this you can look at 00:04:28
natural or you can use different methods to create new ideas. 00:04:39
When you have an idea you should evaluate in order to choose the better idea and to 00:04:52
do this you you should evaluate if it can cover your needs or if it is 00:05:06
simple or it is very complex and also it is cheap or it is expensive. All of 00:05:23
these help you to choose the best idea. You have to express your ideas using obviously 00:05:33
the technological rules for expressing ideas. And after that you have to develop, you have 00:05:44
to do a good planification for this. The planification is a very important part of our design. 00:05:53
Here you can see a very simple planification, a very typical planification for one of our projects. 00:06:05
Well, in other words, it's not just for a project, it's more for one piece, but it's a project. 00:06:16
and it's a it's it's very simple it's just a as you can see you know you have to 00:06:27
um have you you you have to to do different tags you know in a in a typical order 00:06:35
and for each stack you need materials, tools and time. And we can also put some money, 00:06:44
I think this is easy enough at least at least now did this kind of documents can 00:07:00
help you to make a good planification because it let you to know and time 00:07:16
From it you can do a list of materials and a list of tools, so it helps you to make a good planification. 00:07:30
It is important to express well your ideas. 00:07:43
I think everybody draws, everybody can draw, but what is more difficult for you is expressing 00:07:53
the ideas using the technological rules. 00:08:09
The draws could be different, you can't draw something without any rule, and it is a draft. 00:08:16
But if you follow a perspective and you put more details in your draft, it is a draft, 00:08:28
now it is a sketch. 00:08:41
And finally if you draw using materials and with a very good perspective and full of details 00:08:44
is just a technical draw. 00:09:00
For us and for our project a sketch is enough. 00:09:04
you should do or you should follow the technical rules. You should draw using perspective, 00:09:12
using what you usually call European system. This system, this kind of perspective, 00:09:25
consists on expressing things using the perpendicular projections in the space. 00:09:37
Obviously, space has six possible perpendicular projections, but you should just only use three 00:10:01
of these, which are the front projection, the upper top and one of the side projection. 00:10:19
These projections are called views and you should put the upper top projection behind 00:10:30
the front projection and the left side projection on the right and the right side projection on the 00:10:46
left and this is the way you have to express the different things. Apart from 00:10:57
expressing the projection you also add the dimension of the objects. To do that 00:11:12
you use lines. We usually call delimit lines. A delimit line usually has 00:11:24
the delimiter auxiliary line, the delimiter line itself, 00:11:34
which is ending in arrowhead and in the middle of the line you should put the 00:11:48
value in millimeters without a millimeter symbol. It is very important 00:11:56
give details for a project. So one project usually have more than one part 00:12:08
So you have to do a catalyst, you have to describe each part of our project with the material in which you have to build this part. 00:12:16
And sometimes it's important to express the way they have to join in the project. 00:12:33
With all this information, we usually do a document, which people usually call project, but indeed it is a proposal. 00:12:49
A typical proposal usually have a cover page, INGEX, memory, description memory, planification, material list, tool list, a budget, the sketches and the cut list. 00:13:02
I think this is more important information for this part. Now we have to put all this in practice and it's your turn. I'll see you in the next class. 00:13:25
