hello friends welcome to new happy learning video as you can see in the 00:00:00
images today we're going to talk about pyramids mummies and Pharaoh's today 00:00:13
we're going to travel to ancient Egypt Egypt is a country that still exists 00:00:18
today situated in northeast in Africa but what we call ancient Egypt is a 00:00:28
civilization that started more than 5,000 years ago and lasted for 00:00:34
approximately 3,000 years its origins commences with Pharaoh Nama also known 00:00:39
as a scorpion king who in 3200 BC funded this country at the Nile's Bank the 00:00:49
River Nile is the largest river in Africa and was the most important 00:00:59
existing thing for Egyptians since they depended on its water to survive their 00:01:04
whole civilization and cities raised from the rivers bank the Nile was so 00:01:11
important because Egypt is a country surrounded by desert and the 00:01:18
cultivations could only take place at its shores but it wasn't only used for 00:01:23
agriculture the river was also used to fish and hunt they also used it as a great road to transport 00:01:30
goods or large stone blocks used for their constructions all of this was why the nile 00:01:38
was considered to be a god actually ancient egyptians had hundreds of gods some had a 00:01:46
human's body and an animal's head like goddess bastet who had a lion's head or god anubis 00:01:54
and his jackal head but the most important of all was ra god of sun who had a falcon's head 00:02:02
the pharaohs were ancient egypt's kings there were many pharaohs over 3 000 years 00:02:14
But the most famous one was Tutankhamun. 00:02:21
Ancient Egyptians believed in life after death, 00:02:26
and therefore they were buried with their belongings, 00:02:29
furniture, vases, clothes, and even food. 00:02:32
They believed that this way these things could be used in the next life. 00:02:36
As pharaohs had the greatest power, 00:02:41
they wanted to have the best tombs, and they got them. 00:02:44
These tremendous pyramids were built for pharaohs' tombs. 00:02:48
Inside them there are many tunnels, chambers and secret passageways. 00:02:52
When they died, pharaohs and some noblemen's bodies were mummified to preserve their bodies after death. 00:02:58
These are the famous mummies. 00:03:05
Mummies were placed in a sarcophagus, luxurious coffins that were covered in beautiful drawings and hieroglyphics. 00:03:09
hieroglyphics were the mysterious egyptian writings their meaning was a mystery for 00:03:17
thousands of years but thanks to archaeologists we can translate them and partly understand what 00:03:25
they want to say the truth is everything in ancient egypt's circle fascinates me 00:03:32
you already know that discovering the past makes us understand the present and improve the future 00:03:40
