Hello friends, welcome to new happy learning video 00:00:05
Today we're going to learn about the human musculoskeletal system. It's what lets us move around 00:00:10
The musculoskeletal system is made up of two systems the muscular and skeletal systems 00:00:17
The muscular system is the active part of the musculoskeletal system 00:00:24
Muscles are between our bones and skin and they are joined to our bones through tendons. 00:00:29
They are elastic organs that can be lengthened or shortened causing some body part movements. 00:00:35
Us humans have approximately 630 muscles. 00:00:43
According to the movements that they make we can differentiate voluntary and involuntary muscles. 00:00:49
voluntary muscles move only when we want them to and involuntary muscles move without us 00:00:57
realizing like our heart or stomach that are always a movement the skeletal system is made 00:01:06
up of all bones and cartilage the skeleton gives us our shape that differentiates us 00:01:16
from other living things and allows us to walk run or jump our body has 206 00:01:24
bones and each one of them has their own name some of them are skull that 00:01:33
protects our brain the spine that maintains a stable and upright the jaw 00:01:40
allows us to move our mouths to chew food ribs that protect our heart or 00:01:46
lungs. And the femur, the longest bone in the human body and is found in our legs. 00:01:53
Bones are joined with each other by joints. They are divided into three groups, depending 00:02:03
on their level of mobility. Immobile or fixed joints don't have any mobility, like the ones 00:02:09
like the ones that join our skull semi-mobile joints do have some mobility but not a lot like 00:02:16
vertebrae in our backs mobile joints have great mobility like our elbow or knee now we've got to 00:02:24
know a little more about our musculoskeletal system now we need to do plenty of physical 00:02:37
exercise to make it work brilliantly and maintain ourselves really healthy goodbye friends and don't 00:02:44
