Flow diagrams with creately
This is a video about using an online tool called Creately to draw flow diagrams.
00:00:01
You can find the link in Aula Virtual, and if you click here, you will reach a website like this.
00:00:07
The first time you enter, you have five opportunities to create different flow diagrams.
00:00:14
However, you can also enter with your Google account, but remember you only have five opportunities to create a flow diagram.
00:00:25
So we are going to select flowchart.
00:00:34
The layout looks something like this.
00:00:36
On the left side, you can find the different shapes you can use in the flowcharts and on
00:00:44
the right, the rest of the page, you have the canvas which is used to build the diagram.
00:00:49
First, we are going to add a start block.
00:00:55
And now, if you click on the connector, we can select the shape of the following block.
00:01:06
Now we place it, and if you click inside the block, you can change the text.
00:01:21
This time we're going to write, check aula virtual.
00:01:27
Now again, we will do the same, add another block.
00:01:51
If you click the left corner of the block here, you can add other shapes.
00:01:55
It will be the same shape, but this time in the text, you will write, check email.
00:02:01
The next block is going to be a decision block.
00:02:15
The shape is a diamond and we will place it in a suitable position here.
00:02:19
And the text will be a question.
00:02:26
Do you have homework?
00:02:29
Now the next block is going to be another rectangular block but remember the block before
00:02:41
is a decision block so the idea is that if the answer is correct we select yes then you
00:02:46
put in do your homework.
00:02:53
But if the answer is no, that you do not have homework, go back and check Aula Virtual and
00:03:11
your email again.
00:03:17
This is the most difficult part.
00:03:20
I need to add a connector from the decision block to this block here.
00:03:22
So on the decision block, I will select the draw connector and you can take it from the
00:03:27
decision block to the first block and there you have it.
00:03:33
So you can see here, you have the word no added.
00:03:41
So let's check the diagram again.
00:03:46
This is the start block, then this is the first process block, check aula virtual.
00:03:48
The second process block, check email.
00:03:54
The decision box, do you have homework?
00:03:58
If the answer is yes, do your homework.
00:04:02
If you don't have homework, then check aula virtual and your email again.
00:04:04
To finish the block diagram, I'm going to use an end block and place it here, and I'm
00:04:10
going to add the connector from this side to the other.
00:04:18
You can see the arrow is upside down, however, if you click the arrows here that say flip
00:04:23
connector, you can flip it to the other direction, and that's it.
00:04:30
One last thing, if you highlight all the elements, you can select this tool to align the diagram
00:04:40
in the center. I suggest you use the same canvas to do all your homework, because then
00:04:47
you are only using one opportunity. And remember, you only have five.
