And as fuel prices reach new highs, we're all faced with a huge challenge. 00:00:05
How can we reduce our consumption and greenhouse gas emissions 00:00:10
without having to invest in new technology? 00:00:14
There's a simple answer, eco-driving. 00:00:17
A few good habits which any driver can learn and use with any vehicle 00:00:20
will help save money, prolong the life of the engine 00:00:24
and actively contribute to protecting our planet. 00:00:27
For example, don't warm up the engine before moving off. 00:00:30
You consume more by keeping the engine running for more than a minute 00:00:34
than by switching off and restarting the engine. 00:00:37
Also, limiting air conditioning use can decrease your consumption by 5%. 00:00:40
So, air conditioning should only be used when really necessary. 00:00:45
Check your tyre pressure regularly. 00:00:50
Underinflated tyres can increase your fuel consumption by 4 to 5%. 00:00:52
