Vídeo-presentación sobre Hércules (inglés)
Hello everyone, we are Celia and Zaffa and today we are going to talk about one of the most famous Greek myths, the one of Hercules or Heracles.
00:00:00
There are many versions.
00:00:10
There is one of them which says that Hercules was the son of Zeus and Alcmin, the princess of Zeus.
00:00:12
Hera, Zeus' wife, was envious of him because he was the son of another woman.
00:00:19
That's why she sent two snakes to him and his twin brother Scrib when he was a baby, but Hercules managed to strangle the snake.
00:00:24
So when Eurystheus, the king of Greece, wanted to banish Amphitryon, the king of thieves, Hercules offered to do ten very dangerous jobs in ninety-nine months.
00:00:34
First was to kill the Nemean lion, a lion with indestructible skin.
00:00:45
Hercules blocked the entrance to the cave, strangled him and led through another, smaller entrance.
00:00:51
Additionally, an armor was made with the lion's skin as a prize.
00:00:57
The second was to kill the Lernian Hydra, a monster with fifty heads that terrorized the Psalms of Lerna.
00:01:02
The problem is that when you cut off one head, two news one group, so his servant burned them as Hercules cut them.
00:01:09
The third was to capture the deer of Terinia, which belonged to the goddess Artemisa.
00:01:17
It took Hercules a year to find her, and he did it without shedding a single drop of blood
00:01:23
by shooting it with an arrow in its tendon, because if he had drawn blood, Artemisa would
00:01:29
have been very angry.
00:01:35
The fourth job was to kill the Egymanthian boar, a very ferocious beast.
00:01:37
Hercules chased him until winter, where the boar got stuck in a large mound of snow.
00:01:42
Hercules then caught him and killed him.
00:01:49
The fifth was to clean the stables of King Odias, a king whose stables were very dirty.
00:01:52
Hercules changed the course of a nearby river and got the water to clean the stables.
00:01:59
The sixth job was to spell the Stymphalian birds, which were very dangerous birds with bronze claws.
00:02:07
Hercules could not spell them until the goddess Athenea gave him bronze bells which he could spell the birds, which could not stand the noise.
00:02:14
The seventh job was capture a bull that was terrorizing Crete.
00:02:25
Hercules managed to capture him by jumping from a tree and sticking a ring in his nose.
00:02:29
In that way, he was able to control it and took it to Eurystheus.
00:02:36
Hercules captured the four mares of Cain Diomedes of Thrace.
00:02:40
They were mares that ate human flesh and Hercules stole them from the royal stable and gave them to his groom Abderus while he was fighting against Diomedes.
00:02:43
In the end, he left him senseless.
00:02:55
Finally, the mares ate Abderus and Hercules, very sad, returned to Greece.
00:02:59
The ninth job was to get the golden belt from the queens of the Amazons, Hippolyta.
00:03:05
The Amazons were warrior girls who lived south of the Black Sea.
00:03:11
Hippolyta fell in love with him, but Hera transformed into an Amazon and made the Amazons believe that Hercules wanted to kidnap Hippolyta and they shot Hercules killing Hippolyta.
00:03:17
But Hercules managed to take the belt.
00:03:31
Tenth job was to steal the flock of a giant called Geryon, who had three trunks and three hearts, so he was very difficult to kill.
00:03:34
Hercules achieved this by shooting an arrow that hit him in all three hearts at the same time.
00:03:45
But Eurystheus, angry because Hercules had managed to do all the jobs, said that he had cheated in the second job and in the fifth, because in the second his servant had helped him, and in the fifth because he said that Odias had paid him.
00:03:51
That's why he had to do two more jobs, which were the following.
00:04:10
The 12th job was to bring an apple from the garden of the Hesperides, a very dangerous sacred place.
00:04:14
That's why Hercules tracked a giant called Atlas who held the sky into taking them.
00:04:21
After taking them, Atlas tried to escape but Hercules told him if he could hold the sky for a moment so that he could put his cape on properly.
00:04:26
And that's how he tracked him and got the apples.
00:04:36
The twelfth job was to tame the dog of the god Hades, Cerberus, a very dangerous, three-headed dog.
00:04:38
Hercules asked Hades and Persephone to let him have Cerberus and when Eurystheus saw him, he was so scared that he set him free.
00:04:49
Hercules died because his wife Deianira put poison on his shirt without Hercules knowing.
00:05:00
she did it because she thought that hercules was cheating on her in the end hercules died but the gods named him a minor god and gold-keeper of the olympus thank you very much to all
