Good afternoon, my name is Nagare and I'm in charge of the first rebuttal. 00:00:01
You have good arguments, but we have some objections. 00:00:05
First, you mentioned the mitigation of harm and the compulsive gambling state. 00:00:08
How are you going to regulate gambling? 00:00:12
Because it is impossible to regulate something at the point where we can stop its negative effects. 00:00:14
Second, the government takes away a lot of money from online gambling, but this is not a fair way to raise money as you are worsening the health of the society in exchange just for obtaining benefits. 00:00:20
And finally, you said that it will increase the taxes so the economy of Spain will decrease. We all agree on that. 00:00:41
But the health of the society will also improve. 00:00:50
Are you telling me that the economy is more important than the health? 00:00:54
Now, let me remind you of our main arguments on why we stand for devotion. 00:00:59
1. The increase in addiction to online gambling. 00:01:04
Online gambling is one of the most addictive games. 00:01:07
Due to its immediacy and accessibility, there has been a decrease in the average age of players. 00:01:09
Nowadays, there is an epidemic of addiction to online gambling among teenagers. 00:01:15
Betting through the internet has overcome physical gambling. 00:01:19
The amounts of money that are bet are also higher. 00:01:22
Gambling is easier to do and will encourage lots of new people to place bets, so dramatically will multiply in harm. 00:01:25
As it is shown in this graphic, since online gambling has been legalized, it has increased the amount of money that is dedicated to online gambling. 00:01:32
Since its legalization, much more people are involved in gambling. 00:01:46
Due to these consequences rise too. 00:01:50
By making online gambling legal, we are worsening its effects on the population. 00:01:52
So we really legalize something that creates such addiction? 00:01:56
2. The negative effects of online gambling 00:01:59
The most underrated age group by online gambling are young people. 00:02:02
They do not have the mental maturity to know how much money they can use or when to stop yet. 00:02:05
Online gambling has caused negative consequences in three aspects. 00:02:10
On an economic level, debts are around 5,000 euros on average. 00:02:13
This increases personal loans, microcredits through the internet, etc. 00:02:17
The social consequences consist of social isolation, decreasing academic or labor efficiency, etc. 00:02:21
And finally, personal consequences. 00:02:27
There's been an increase in depression, guiltiness and even suicide. 00:02:29
A bad state of physical and mental health, mainly due to the loss of your family and friends. 00:02:34
Keeping in mind these points, do you still think we should not ban online gambling? 00:02:39
And three, online gambling creates a poor society. 00:02:43
There is a low probability to win a prize. 00:02:46
The average of money used for bets is around 1,000 to 2,000 euros directly, which are often lost. 00:02:48
In addition, betting stocks have created algorithms and different strategies to catch more players, 00:02:55
making them lose money, which goes to the stock. 00:03:00
Online gambling is only hurting people as they are losing money and developing debts. 00:03:03
On the other hand, this would be good for the government, but do you think this is a fair way to raise money? 00:03:06
Clearly not. The rate of mental health decreases, and the economy of gamblers too. 00:03:12
It is immoral for the state or charities to raise money by exploding people's greed. 00:03:16
In addition, only gambling may bring jobs to more people, but do you think it is the best way to help unemployment? 00:03:21
How can a game that makes its participants suffer from mental illnesses, poor economy, just to benefit itself, should not be banned? 00:03:27
Thank you. 00:03:34
