Believe it or not, those beautiful colors are there all the time. 00:00:16
Then why can't I see them? 00:00:19
Because the chlorophyll in plant cells absorbs most of the sun's visible light, except for 00:00:22
green, which is reflected back to your eyes. 00:00:27
During autumn, there are fewer hours of sunshine, which cause chemical changes in plants. 00:00:30
These changes cause chlorophyll to break down, and then the leaves no longer appear green. 00:00:36
Now, all the other colors can be seen. 00:00:41
So when the chlorophyll leaves, the leaves can show their true colors. 00:00:44
