Hello, boys and girls. It's teacher Katie. Today, I'm going to read you a story about 00:00:00
foods that somebody likes and foods that they don't like. Are you ready? Let's start. Ready, 00:00:07
steady, go. I will not ever, never eat a tomato. I have a little sister, Lola. She's small 00:00:16
and very funny. Sometimes mom and dad ask me to give her dinner. This is very hard because Lola 00:00:29
is a fussy eater. Lola won't eat carrots. She thinks carrots are for rabbits. Lola thinks peas 00:00:39
are too small and too green. One day, Lola told me, I do not eat peas or carrots or potatoes 00:00:50
or mushrooms or spaghetti or eggs or sausages. I do not eat cauliflower or cabbage or beans or 00:01:02
bananas or oranges. I do not eat apples or rice or cheese or fish fingers. And I absolutely 00:01:13
will not ever, never eat a tomato. Lola hates tomatoes. I said, good, we're not eating peas 00:01:24
or carrots or potatoes or any of those things, especially not tomatoes. 00:01:37
Then why are there carrots on the table? Oh, you think these are carrots, I said, 00:01:44
but they're not carrots. They're orange twiglets from Jupiter. Carrots don't grow on Jupiter. 00:01:53
Well, that's true, said Lola. Okay, if they came all the way from Jupiter, then I'll try one. 00:02:02
Not bad. And these, I said. These are not peas. They're green drops from Greenland. 00:02:15
They are made of green and they fall from the sky. 00:02:30
But I don't like green things, said Lola. 00:02:34
Oh, goody, I said. Then I'll eat yours. Green jobs are so tasty. 00:02:40
Well, okay, maybe I'll just have one or two. 00:02:47
Oh, quite tasty. 00:02:56
Next, Lola sees the mashed potato. 00:03:02
I will not eat mashed potatoes, so don't even try. 00:03:05
But these are not mashed potatoes, I say. 00:03:12
These are clouds from on top of the highest mountain. 00:03:15
Oh, well, in that case, I'll have some. 00:03:21
I love to eat clouds. 00:03:24
Next were the fish fingers. 00:03:30
I would never eat a fish finger. 00:03:33
I know, but these are not fish fingers. 00:03:36
This is mermaid food from the supermarket under the sea. 00:03:40
Oh, I went there once with Mom. 00:03:45
I think I've had these before. 00:03:48
Then Lola said, 00:03:50
Will you pass me one of those? 00:03:55
What, one of these? 00:03:58
She was pointing at the tomatoes. 00:04:02
Are you sure? Yes, of course. Moon squirters are my favorites. You didn't think they were 00:04:05
tomatoes, did you? So what do we learn from Lola? Well, I learned that you should always 00:04:15
taste a food before you say, I don't like that, because it might be really good. 00:04:28
alright I'll see you next time guys 00:04:36
buh-bye 00:04:39
