Europe has rushed to help Greece in its fight against fires devastating its southern regions.
The EU has a Community mechanism in place to facilitate reinforced cooperation in civil protection assistance. Monitoring and Information Centre (MIC) coordinated the offers of many member states and in total 18 fire-fighting planes, 18 specialised helicopters and nearly 100 fire-fighters had been sent to Greece.

The request was on Friday at 4 o'clock, and already on Saturday some aircraft were 00:00:00
on site and were starting working. 00:00:29
Now on Monday we have between 15 and 20 aircrafts fighting, and I think it's a good result in 00:00:32
24 hours to have this capacity on site. 00:00:40
I think all Europe is there to fight. 00:00:43

We are in total 28 persons, and for the flying elements we have two helicopters, Agusta Bell 00:01:05
